Eastern meadowlark is songbird that belongs to the blackbird family. There are 17 subspecies of eastern meadowlarks that can be found in the eastern parts of North, Central and South America. Eastern meadowlark inhabits grasslands, prairies, pastures, agricultural fields and areas near the roads. Accelerated development of agriculture and pollution of the ground with pesticides negatively affect survival of eastern meadowlarks in the wild. Despite these factors, population of eastern meadowlarks is still large and stable.
I found this one along my favorite road. Joe Overstreet Road in Osceola County, Florida.

It's a hot summer night and CPR's Megantic local has arrived back at Sherbrooke. With the restroom stop, coffee, and good ole' ribbing out of the way, it's time get back to work and yard the train. Next up will be to get a drink for the MLW RS18 from a local fuel provider.

FORSE IL MIO FASCINO HA COLPITO L' AMAZZONE....
La forcella Ambrizzola è un posto spettacolare a cavallo tra la Valle del Boite e la Val Fiorentina. Si scollina passando a breve distanza tra due massi memorabili come la Croda da Lago e il Becco di Mezzodì. Antelao, Soprapiss, Cristallo Tre Cime e Croda Rossa d'Ampezzo da un lato, Pelmo Civetta e Marmolada dall'altro.
Dopo la malga Federa (che offre la possibilità di ristoro) la salita si fa molto ripida. Ma dopo poco più di 200 mt dsl+ si giunge al Rifugio Palmieri che si trova nella conca di Ambrizzola in un posto fatato: dietro il rifugio c'è il bellissimo lago di origine glaciale che lo separa dalla Croda da Lago.
Da qui si sale alla Forcella Ambrizzola (altri 200 mt dsl+ di salita) per toccare un punto di particolare bellezza come indicato nell'introduzione della descrizione del percorso.
Quindi ancora un piccolo tratto di salita fino alla Forcella Col Duro.
Da qui è quasi tutta discesa fino al Rifugio Città di Fiume con passaggi imegnativi, ma, chi è appassionato, con una buona tecnica e/o con una bici mountain si riesce a stare in sella per circa il 90% del percorso.

Old school maintenance is witnessed at Sherbrooke, Quebec. The asbestos car off the Quebec Central was in need of a truck swap out and with an air compressor to lift the flat and a hand brake applied 40 foot box car to keep things in place, it wasn't long before it was time for a Labatt's!
Scenes like this can still be found on short lines with very limited facilities, but try this with one of the "big guys" today???..... you just might get walking papers! It's UNSAFE!!!! AAAAHHHH!
Been messing around with posing a bit, pretty pleased with how it turned out. I love this acoustic guitar piece, definitely wanna get more use out of it.
Also for those who care, sorry for the heavy absence lately. I've been preoccupied with a bunch of shit and haven't found the time. I would be lying if I said I've not lost a little interest, but I don't plan on leaving any time soon.
Stayed here last week. Wonderful accommodation less than an hour from Le Shuttle, Nord-pas-de-Calais. Night sky views were pretty impressive, too.
